You are unique.
You deserve to be treated as an unique person on your own authentic life path. I can support you becoming the person you want to be and traveling the path that works for you!
What is an Authentic Life Path?
The question should really be What is YOUR Authentic Life Path?
Often in the hustle and bustle of the “real world” we kind of just go with the flow and often lose ourselves. Sometimes it is scary to live our lives authentically. Living authentically means the person you feel you truly are on the inside.
I started my career in the IT field, but realized I did not have a passion for it or enjoy it. I wanted to help others. I became a licensed marriage and family therapist, and am now living my authentic life path and want to help you find and live yours.
I specialize in working with tweens, teens and adults who identify as transgender or genderqueer. I also specialize in the LGBTQIAA+ community. I work with all religions and spiritualities and all types of families no matter what the unique makeup.

"I offer a sacred, safe, non-judgmental space for individuals to look inward for the answers that are already within. I work from a non-pathologizing, Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed and Gestalt theoretical model, which integrates multicultural, and feminist traditions, and incorporates a trauma-informed approach; an important framework for working with already marginalized communities. I also conduct WPATH-based biopsychosocial assessments for gender-affirming surgeries.
I am the Remote Team Clinical Director, as well as a LPC (OR #C5603) and LMHC (WA #LH61177718) at Portland Mental Health & Wellness. Clinically, I work from IFS-informed, gestalt, multicultural, and feminist traditions. These traditions are unified through a common goal of cultural humility and personal empowerment. Furthermore, I am proactively engaged in the imperfect process of an anti-racist practice.
None of us fits perfectly into our labels, none of us is fully know through the labels we choose, nor are we as individuals representatives of the labels we do align with. I believe patients strive in their own unique way toward wholeness, congruence, authenticity, and growth. I believe that therapy provides a pathway toward growth and reconnection through the exploration of ways in which the patient’s wholeness has been disrupted in and by unsupportive, incongruent, or toxic relationships, environments and systems. I work with a variety of people on a variety of identity and life issues, including those noted in the Population, Services, etc. section."

Bio/Practice Info
As a therapy practitioner, I find it helpful to disclose my own social identities in order to aid clients in choosing a therapist who fits them best. I am non-binary, white, non-monogamous, pansexual, nerdy, and queer, and navigating chronic illness. I recognize that I often pass as cis-hetero and able-bodied, and recognize the impact this has on the way I navigate the world. I aim to do my best to understand you from an intersectional and queer perspective, knowing that your experience is unique and different from my own.
My therapeutic practice centers around sex and sexuality, trauma, gender exploration and identity, romantic relationships, non-monogamy, kink, emotional and somatic experience, asexuality and ace spectrum experiences, religious/spiritual trauma, geekiness/nerdiness, and body acceptance. My work draws on therapeutic models of attachment, mindfulness, emotionally focused, somatic, and narrative therapies. I am also trained as a Therapeutic Game Master by Geek Therapeutics, which is a certification in facilitating group therapy using tabletop roleplaying games for therapeutic purposes. In July 2022, I graduated with a Masters in Marriage, Couple, and Family therapy from Lewis & Clark College. I received my Bachelor of Science in Clinical & Counseling Psychology from Colorado State University in 2018.
Understanding how our bodies and minds work at a biological level is an important factor of therapy. Emotions are another integral part of the human experience that we will explore in our work together. I believe that our mind and our bodies are deeply connected, and the work we do will incorporate both thoughts and embodied experiences. I aim to bring my authentic self to the room and therapeutic relationship. My goal is to offer a space where you can also be your authentic self and explore the possibilities of healing and growth that you are reaching for. I view therapy as driven by the client, so I am here to work with you towards your personal goals.
In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, D&D, reading, hanging out with my cat and dog, and spending time outdoors.

I approach counseling with exceptional compassion, curiosity, and thoughtfulness. I believe Black lives matter and social justice is of core importance to therapy. I welcome and empower LGBTQIA+ clients. I inspire change and growth in my clients with gentle encouragement, evidenced-based practices, and humor.
I offer support to people with relational, career, creative, and personal challenges through a trauma-informed lens. I use cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness to help clients overcome anxiety, depression, or attachment challenges in order to help make life dreams come true.
I help those who seek to heal from trauma using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am incredibly passionate about this work. I enjoy acting, filmmaking, and comedy in my spare time.

I view therapy as a collaborative, unfolding process that considers individuals holistically. I have specific experience working with people who have a history of complex trauma; folks in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum transitions; those experiencing intimate partner violence; queer, trans, gender non-conforming and questioning people; individuals and relationships who are non-monogamous; and those dealing with the impacts of oppression.
Provider Identities
Queer, white, non-monogomous, neurotypical, able-bodied
Bio/Practice Info
As a therapist, I am committed to considering issues of power in context. I believe mental health to be intergenerational, culturally shaped, and political. Working through a feminist and queer orientation I strive to deconstruct my own power as an expert in the room and center the client’s dynamic social and cultural experience. I'm honored to hold space with clients in times of darkness or transition. Generally, I believe that therapy can be a liberatory tool for change in ourselves, our relationships, and communities.
I draw from feminist and somatic approaches, using mindfulness to help you reconnect with your centered-self, those around you, and broader structures of support and thriving. You can expect a safe and nonjudgmental space - I strive to incorporate anti-oppressive frameworks into my practice, attending to social and cultural contexts. I believe that many challenges are related to structural violence and that we hold this trauma in our bodies. I enjoy helping clients tune into their embodied experience to release pain and find understanding. I hold a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Portland State University where my coursework centered around multicultural and justice issues. I have additional training as a yoga instructor, embracing the mind-body connection. And as a birth doula, working with folks during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum transitions.

You can learn more about my life and practice on my website listed above. I am a neurodiversity-affirming therapist. I named my practice, "Comprehensive Therapy," because I support individuals to look at all aspects of their lives - their sleep, nutrition, social interactions, emotional and physical well-being. From my perspective (and experience), most of the difficulties that bring us to therapy involve our "whole" selves, and so I try to keep that in mind as we do our work together supporting your healing and movement towards your goals. I am often asked what schools of therapy guide the way I work with clients. Below are some of my biggest therapeutic influences, keeping in mind that we will select the approaches that resonate with you.
Client-Directed: My background is in feminist/humanist therapy, which is always client-led and directed. In other words, you tell me what you want to work on and I work on your behalf to get you where you want to go. This involves transparency about what I am doing as your therapist, and using tools from client-directed outcome therapy to see if you are achieving improvement and getting the service you want from me.
Solution-Focused Therapy: Here the focus is on helping you find pragmatic solutions to whatever problems you are facing in your life. Together we will look at what already works for you, as well as what gets in your way of having the life you want. I have complete faith in our individual ability to sort out our lives, as long as we have a competent and caring guide to get us where we want to go. But again, this involves building on the strengths you already have and then buttressing the weak spots.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT): This method does exactly what it says - helps you be mindful about what you’re doing in your life. From this standpoint we can change the things that aren’t working, and figure out what would work better. At the same time, we will spend time identifying how our minds can distort reality, which can contribute to anxiety, depression, challenged decision making, etc. I have been trained in CBT for psychosis, autism, anxiety, depression, OCD, perfectionism, IFS, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).

Hello! My name is Clark Hazel, I’m a non-binary therapist and use they/them pronouns. I am a licensed clinical social worker in the states of Oregon and Illinois and look forward to supporting you on your journey.
Are you looking to make changes in your life but are unsure of where to start? It can be especially challenging to navigate life right now with the pandemic, economic uncertainty, and the unveiling of the multitude of intertwined systems of oppression we find ourselves in at this time. You are not alone in experiencing concerns, outrage, and fear. I am here to accompany you in navigating these challenges and acknowledging life’s joy. You are deserving of support and a space to talk openly. I am someone you can trust to process your fears and anxieties as well as cultivate hope for your future.
My areas of experience include working with members of the Queer and Trans community, and I also provide gender-affirming letters. I work with those who are questioning their gender identity, navigating barriers to receiving gender-affirming care, and working with folks experiencing difficult family relationships related to their transgender/non-binary identity.
You are valued, you are needed, and you are not alone during this time. Please take the first step and reach out today. I am offering telehealth appointments and telephone sessions at this time.
I look forward to connecting with you soon and supporting you on your journey.
Please reach out if you think I might be a good fit for you. I look forward to working together!

My name is Curtis White. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Registered Associate that specializes in working with individuals with disabilities, depression, anxiety, and other persistent mental health disorders. I am also an advocate in the LGBTQIA community and other marginalized identities presented with systematic oppression. I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology and my Masters in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from Portland State University in 2019.
My approach to counseling is a collaborative experience that draws on the awareness of the Self. How our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs influence relationships with the Self, as well as how our environment affects these facets of everyday life. With self-compassion, gaining awareness of our inner-world can lead to a greater understanding of how our life choices affect our emotional and physical well-being and can be a guide to a more authentic and balanced life.
We often underestimate our own strengths and magnify our fears, forcing ourselves to limit our own options. Fortunately, we are social creatures that crave connection and are nourished by the support of the ones we love and care for. Through this support we gain new insight into ourselves and discover new ways to find the next steps.

The heart of what I do is support couples and relationships in our community. When I work with couples and relationships, I’m interested in helping support you in navigating tough conversations, building a solid foundation together, and getting your relational needs met. I am passionate about working with couples and relationships around: getting free from the cycle of conflict, communicating more skillfully together, mending and tending to trust issues, finding more sexual satisfaction, healing old hurts, and sinking into more relational security together. When I work with individuals, I'm interested in helping you sink into being fully you while being in relationship with others. That might mean learning more about who you are, discovering your needs in relationship, getting support with boundaries and saying "no," processing your childhood and past, or growing your ability to being more vulnerable with others. I want to support you in being your full, authentic self.

I approach our work from a narrative therapy perspective. As its name implies, we will work on your story and how we define our lives through our learned history. Narrative therapy begins with the understanding that you are the expert on your life; my job is to help you look at that story. Life is hard and blame and shame are not a solution. I do not assign diagnoses unless you find it useful.
You have many beliefs, values, and abilities; let’s explore those! Let’s be curious together. In our work, healing is often found in a new perspective or new understanding of the story we create to define who we are. Finding your authentic self can bring healing.
I’ve lived in Portland for 25 years and love being a part of this community. I am a graduate of Portland State University with a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. I have a background in fine arts and enjoy painting in my free time. I'm an avid hiker but think of myself as more the indoorsy type.

I am a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and Oregon Psychological Association (OPA). I support the APA Society for the Psychology of Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity (Division 44) and Oregon SAIGE through my membership and engagement.
I approach treatment with the idea that we are on a collaborative journey together. I see my job as helping clients to get a different perspective, make different decisions, or recognize that they are already on the right path. We should feel like a team with the common goal of building confidence, health, and life empowerment.
I work from an Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) model, which focuses on healing interpersonal challenges and managing current symptoms. I believe that the relationships we have with others (past and present) and life events impact our current emotional health in a cyclical fashion. If we heal from our past or current relationships, we can positively impact our current emotional health.

For the past 20 years I have worked in community housing and helped new social workers, interns and staff develop professionally, become licensed or graduate with useful field experience that engages them and is driven by their desire to learn and grow. I have also created and taught workshops in supervision, outcomes for social work and best practices for de-escalation. Opening Pulse and serving those that need our support feels like the right way to give and serve.

Bio/Practice Info
I’m passionate about working with people who live offbeat lifestyles and find that non-conformity is their cup of tea. I welcome all races, sexual orientations, gender identities/expressions, countries of origin, disabilities, ethnicities, and bodies.
I provide a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space to help you to explore your past, celebrate your strengths, and work toward your future. I work with adults and adolescents who are experiencing challenges with anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodiversity, ADHD, autism (I am a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist - ASDCS), self-esteem, phobias, self-criticism, BPD/personality disorders, overwhelming life transitions, grief, creative block, academic or career burnout, stress management, and other struggles.
My practice is trauma-informed and I use an eclectic approach with modalities that are catered to each client's needs, which may include strengths-based techniques, CBT, DBT (mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness), positive psychology, virtual reality therapy, art therapy, narrative therapy, & geek/gamer therapy.
I earned my doctoral degree (PsyD) in clinical psychology from California Southern University, with research specializations in sports psychology, eating disorders, positive psychology, the psychological benefits of tattoos, and addictive/compulsive behaviors. My doctoral dissertation was entitled "The Effects of Social Media on Body Image Constructs Among Active Women" and can be found on ResearchGate.
Outside of the clinical setting I have developed and presented mental health educational seminars for artists and creatives at conventions around the country. These training events focus on issues like creative anxiety, depression, creative block/burnout, imposter syndrome, self-esteem, flow, self-talk, cognitive restructuring, mindfulness, self-confidence, social comparison, self-care, and motivation. I also presented a seminar at TAGGS (Therapeutic and Applied Geek and Gaming Summit) entitled "The Positive Mental Health Effects of Tattoos" which explored the therapeutic benefits of tattoos and how tattooing helps mental health wellness in a multitude of ways, including: as a way to establish identity, emotional benefits, heightened self-confidence and self-awareness, commitment, camaraderie with others, the expression of individuality, positive body image, help with reclaiming one's body, as an element of self-care and celebration, as a cathartic release when dealing with grief and trauma, and helping to shift from a sense of brokenness to wholeness.
I co-own Out of Step Tattoos & Gallery in downtown Eugene, which features an awesome crew of tattoo artists and a diverse array of artwork. We also regularly curate and host art-based community events.

Bio/Practice Info
I see therapy as a collaborative process where we can access your own inner gold and uncover your truth and deep knowing. As a practitioner of feminist and Critical Race Theory modalities I understand that systems of oppression, such as: racism, trans-phobia, homophobia, sexism, and poverty contribute to mental health and impact the way we move through the world. We are all immersed in a culture that uplifts us, or steps down on us based on our identities. In therapy we can explore these aspects as well as your interpersonal and intrapersonal dynamics in order to find healing and growth. I am aware of the identities that I bring into the room as a counselor, and am deeply committed to addressing my own biases as a white passing person and around any and all other areas of privilege that I hold. I am committed to a process that is egalitarian and collaborative. You are the expert of your lived experience, it is my role to support and guide you through your personal exploration.

My heart is always with the warriors—those who stand against oppression, those who stand for others who cannot stand, those who defy the thought that human nature is oppressive and greedy at its core. I see the independent child whose mother doesn’t protect, whose father only brings fear.
My mind is always on the seekers—those who know there is a better way. They’ve caught wispy glimpses of the world beyond where rain and spark dance in rivers of compassion, understanding, unity. I see the child who sits alone, imagination the only sanctuary to express their truth.
My Soul is always with the watchers—those so aware of the world they can hardly bear breath. Just the thought of touching the world hurts. I feel their secret desire to engage. I see the small child that peeks from behind mother’s hem, wondering when it will be safe to dance and sing.

Bio/Practice Info
Hi, I'm Jason Schaefer.
I rarely march in the streets these days. I’ve stood in the cold and rain against war, hate, and oppression. I will no longer sit in corporate cubicles, but I’ve been there too. My work now is to sit with you fighters, you seekers, and you watchers. Those of you overwhelmed, worn down, wounded and afraid are welcome here.
Together we won’t hide from what is. We’ll face it, gently at first. We’ll move through it, get you standing on your feet, sitting a bit more upright on your mat. I want to help you realize the you you’re afraid to hope for. We need that version of you. Let’s find them.

Calling all queers, creatives, kinksters, ethical non-monogamists, rabble-rousers, neurospicies and other normative culture misfits! If you are interested in disrupting programmed patterns, repairing attachment wounding, integrating trauma and stepping into a more authentic, expansive way of being, let’s talk. As an openly queer, neurodivergent, polyamorous person, I gravitate towards working with others who share similar intersectionalities. By creating a safe-enough space in therapy for you to meet and express your true self, we can combat self-doubt and invite more authenticity into your day-to-day mode of being.
I acknowledge that we do not live in a world where it is safe for everyone to show up authentically all of the time. Therapy is a space to unpack ... you get to decide what happens from there. Giving you control over your own healing process is one of the ways I actively dismantle the power hierarchy inherent in the therapist-client relationship.
I take a holistic, integrative approach to healing, and focus on helping people peel back layers of self to discover parts that have been shamed and repressed due to the impacts of harmful external forces. In addition to talk therapy I facilitate therapeutic work using EMDR and parts-focused guided meditation. Check out my website for more detailed information about my therapeutic approach.
