PsyD, LPC, LMHC, NCC
I have been fortunate to have had incredible supervisors throughout my doctoral journey who met me where I was at both professionally and personally. My supervision style is largely influenced by my own experiences as a supervisee. I utilize a developmental and therapeutic model of supervision in which we will attend to both the patient and the therapist’s process. Strong attention is paid to maintaining and growing awareness of the intersectionality, bias, and DEAI themes. I am an approved supervisor candidate for professional counselor associates through the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapist (OBLPCT) Supervisor Registry. I am not currently supervising in Washington but am currently evaluating whether or not I pursue that option. I specialize in trauma therapy and working with two-spirit, transgender, and nonbinary (2STNB) patient populations. I have a particular interest in supporting non-majority professional counselor associates (BIPOC, queer, 2STNB) who are pursuing licensure and interested in working with 2STNB patient populations.

Providing supervision toward LPC and LMFT in Oregon and ATR (art therapy) in any state.
Rainer Quinn Catkin Rivenburgh MAAT, ATR-BC, ATCS, LAT, LPC is an art therapist and clinical supervisor currently residing on unceded Clackamas, Kalapuya, and Cowlitz land, AKA Portland, Oregon. They practice from a feminist, Relational-Cultural framework and incorporate principles of Narrative Therapy and Somatic Experiencing into their work.
Rainer's areas of knowing include queer and trans liberation, with a special focus on the lives of transgender and gender diverse people. They've worked with a broad range of settings including inpatient psychiatric, assisted living, day treatment, and outpatient agencies with clients ages 5 to 105.
In their service toward nurturing the next generation of therapists as a clinical supervisor and educator, Rainer aims to uphold the sacredness of mental health work. Deepening into clinical supervision entails walking with supervisees as they find their own lineage and guides, disentangling their own unhealed hurts and intergenerational traumas from their compassionate action in the context of the counseling relationship--so that therapists can find their own hows and whys in this work, and remember that they are not alone.

I have ten years of experience supervising new therapist working toward licensure and see my role as helping others continue to develop into mental health professionals. I am able to provide supervision for those registered as psychologist residents, professional counselor associates, and marriage and family therapist associates. I work from a developmental supervision model, which means that I continually assess what supervisees need from me and then respond accordingly. Often, this means that I am more directive to start and then less so over time. Clinically, I am grounded in psychodynamic theory and enjoy working with others who desire to grow in that orientation. I also have extensive experience working with children and adolescents, utilizing solution focused therapy, collaborative problem solving, and family systems theory. In my current practice, a majority of my clients have identities in the LGBTQIIA+ community and I also complete letters of support for gender affirming surgical interventions.
